This 4 week course is for those who have previous throwing experience and want to take their throwing to a new technical level. It is led by Sophia Passmore, an experienced ceramic artist, who has worked as a production potter. 

 

It is for those that have practiced and just need that little guidance and a hint towards the right directions to help improve techniques and move on to the next level. 

 

There will be plenty of demonstrations and practice guides during the four weeks but also this course is for you to use practice throwing and trimming techniques and move in the direction you would like. Whether that is throwing larger, more consistent, throwing with components (i.e. lids, spout or combining components to create larger shape), or exploring techniques to create different shapes (i.e. vases or bottles). 

 

During the 4 week course you will be throwing and trimming. At the end 2 medium size pieces or one large pot will be fired and glazed for you.  

This course is ideal for improvers wanting to establish strong foundational skills, as well as for those looking to gain confidence in throwing larger forms.
