Our beginner courses are for anyone who would like to start working with clay, as well as those who have some experience but would like to build their confidence with a teacher on hand to guide and help along the way.

We currently offer a Mixed Skills course, combining both handbuilding and wheel throwing. It’s a great all-round introduction to pottery, giving you the chance to explore different techniques, make a variety of pieces and develop your skills across both areas. It’s also ideal if you’ve already had some experience and want to deepen your knowledge and confidence.

Our 6-week Beginner Throwing course could be just what you’re looking for. You’ll learn the basics of throwing on the wheel, with plenty of time to practise, experiment and get to grips with the process.

Firing costs apply to all work during beginner courses.
