CLASS / COURSE DESCRIPTION

Six - 3 hour classes to be taken over 6 weeks - £260 plus firing From Wheel to Hand - Complete Pottery (6 week course) Deepen your pottery skills with this comprehensive 6 week pottery course covering handbuilding and wheel throwing. This course gives you the freedom to explore clay in multiple ways, whether you like to throw on the wheel or the sculptural feel of handbuilding. You’ll learn essential handbuilding methods such as coil, slab and pinch techniques as well as learn to centre and throw simple forms on the wheel. You will be guided step-by-step in a relaxed and supportive student environment, you’ll gain confidence in working with clay while creating a variety of functional and decorative pieces, from bowls and mugs to sculptural forms. You will also explore and get to learn different decorating techniques and bring your creations to life with colour. Our beginner courses are suitable for complete beginners or people that have some experience potting. On this course there will be a teacher who will talk you through what to do next and support you on your project. - Do you want to practice your wheel throwing and refine your skills? - Do you want to try hand building or maybe you want to try other techniques like pinch potting, the most basic form of potting or coiling, slab building or sculpture. - Explore different decoration and glazing techniques. - These courses is the point where you will start exploring techniques and find your way as a potter.
