CLASS / COURSE DESCRIPTION
Four - 3 hour classes to be taken over 4 weeks - £160 plus firing This four week pottery course is designed for beginners or to build confidence for those with some experience. Over the duration of the course you will learn the fundamental handbuilding techniques such as pinch pots, coil construction and slab building, gradually developing skills to create a functional piece such as a vases and cups. Week one Look and experiment with the different techniques with focus on pinch and coil pots. Going from the most simple form to taller and complex forms. Week two We will focus on slab building, allowing you to create more structured piece like a vase Week 3 Refining your pieces, adding textures and decorations to your pieces - getting them ready for the first (biscuit) firing. Week 4 Using underglazes and glazing to finish the pieces. Throughout the course emphasis is placed on creativity, experimentation, and understanding of the drying and firing process. By the end of the four weeks, you will have completed several unique pieces and gained a solid foundation in handbuilding skills.
